We recently took a family trip to Samarkand arranged by Silk Road Tour, and it was a wonderful experience. The entire 1 week tour was well-organized from start to finish by the ever resourceful Nargiza who meticulously planned every day for my family so that it was well balanced between sight seeing and long afternoon siesta after plov lunches, and early evening tours to enjoy the architecture and cultural heritage after the beating sun dipped away.

We visited Samarkand and Bokhara and were delighted to experience the richness of heritage of each city. Nargiza arranged our travel between Tashkent and the other cities on the AFROSIAB which is the fast train that zooms across the Uzbek plains and very clean and convenient.

In all three cities, Nargiza arranged for the chauffeured van and drivers who were polite, punctual, and professional, making the journey smooth and comfortable.

The guides (Natalie in Tashkent, Rayhona and Ilhom in Samarkand, and Firuz in Bukhara) were very knowledgeable and engaging on art and culture and took pains to explain the intricate details of the unique architecture, adding great value to our visit. We also received excellent support throughout the trip and our brief souvenir shopping trips to bazaars. Overall, a very good experience — thank you to the Silk Road Tour team for helping create lasting memories!

We hope to visit again and recommend the same operator and guides for anyone travelling from London with family.
